The Mirror Series
Hot Take
Turns out,
self-awareness
is a feature too
BoomPop Team · 10/20/2025Introducing our Mirror Series.
Because self awareness in tech is too rare. Here’s where we get sappy and vulnerable, with the occasional (but always well deserved) humble brag. If our features don’t impress you, maybe our raw approach to the human experience will.
Tech is loud. But what’s actually useful?
Tech companies like to talk. About what they could be. About what they will be. About all the future-forward, AI-powered, never-seen-before magic just over the horizon.
Most of us? We’re just sitting at our desks, looking for something that works. Something that can make life a little easier right now. And self-awareness is the ticket to actually make that happen.
Yes, we’re a tech company. But we’re also a bunch of humans—planners, admins, designers—who’ve been in the weeds before. We remember planning events with 20 open tabs and 2% battery. So we built BoomPop to make the annoying parts easier, not more complicated.
These people have been in the weeds before.
Some things we’re proud of
(and yes, they actually work):
Easy booking for hotels, spaces, and activities—from offsites to bougie President’s Club trips
Guest websites that look great and keep everyone in the loop
Calendar syncing so people show up at the right time (and place)
Text updates that reach your team wherever they are—Slack, SMS, you name it
In-platform RFPs and vendor shortlists that save you from 20-tab chaos
If we’re ever in the dark, at least we’re together.
AI’s cool, but it doesn’t know your team’s inside jokes
Yes, we use AI. So does everyone else. But we’re not handing it the clipboard and letting it run your retreat.
For us, AI’s a behind-the-scenes helper—jumping in when you’re stuck, keeping things organized, and answering the same guest question for the 400th time.
The real magic still comes from people gathering IRL, our AI just helps make the busy parts less painful.
Look at them laughing! Joyous! Don’t you want that?
Tech that’s for someone, not everyone
Some platforms want to be everything to everyone. We’d rather be the one you actually want to use for your events.
That means listening. Updating. Iterating. And remembering that event planners, executive assistants, founders, and doers tired of the messy chaos, don’t need another complicated tool. They need something that works—quickly, cleanly, and without a ton of onboarding.
Nobody’s perfect, so if you ever encounter a hiccup, do tell. Self-awareness keeps us honest. It’s why we’re proud of what we’ve built, happy to fix what breaks—and excited about what’s coming next. We’re not trying to be everything for everyone. But if you’re trying to throw a damn good event? We’ve got you.
